“and then some” = and more!

Wikipedia has a more comprehensive KATTAVA list of colors. Besides an alphabetical AAKKOSELLINEN list, there are also lists by shade SÄVY, such as this one for shades of white. You might recognise the shade eggshell, often used by interior decorators SISUSTUSARKKITEHTI to paint wall. Krista’s often wondered about this, as eggs come in many different shades ranging VAIHDELLA from white to brown.

Interestingly enough, it also has a list of fictional colors, colors invented by writers! Douglas Adams, for example, uses the color hooloovoo, a super-intelligent shade of the color blue. Some other colors made popular by Adams in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy are Ultra Violent and Infra Dead:

Where it wasn’t black you were inclined to wish that it was, because the colours with which some of the unspeakable details were picked out ranged horribly across the whole spectrum of eye-defying colours from Ultra Violent to Infra Dead, taking in Liver Purple, Loathsome Lilac, Matter Yellow, Burnt hombre and Gan Green on the way.
